Bass Lab Balsa Legends Box #1

This is a box for the collector or crankbait enthusiast. This balsa legends box features several legendary balsa crankbait makers—from East Tennessee, the Ohio River, South Carolina, Arkansas and even East Pennsylvania. The top three baits from right to left were hand carved by Marty Burns, aka The BIG M and custom painted by TK Stanley at TackleKraft, one of the best painters in the game today. Not many hand carved balsa baits are still being made. I fish BIG M cranks painted by TK on the regular. They are built tough, run true and get bit! In this box, you will also receive baits listed below and a custom designed Epic Eric's Bass Lab Hat, Dr. Crankenstein XL t-shirt and some of the freshest bass art stickers in the game! The hat, shirt and stickers are original ideas and designs commissioned by the Bass Lab and created by artist Kyle Lysdal aka Goonie Wolfe.

Other makers include some East Tennessee legends like Rob Cochran of JawJacker, Craig Powers of CP Baits, both who trained under the famed Sonny McFarland of Flatshad to Kelly Stooksbury of Mimic Lures, and lesser known Dean Helton who made a mean Tapp style lure. The Ohio River Valley makers are represented by the late Wes England of WE or Wee Baits, the late Wally G. and Gary Dees of D-Baits. You've also got to include the NC legendary cranker and crankbait maker Jerry Lohr or Lohr's Lures. And we have to tip our hat to the late and great Ed Chambers of Zoom who had an affinity for making custom crankbaits with his WEC line of balsa baits. Ira Carrell from Tulsa OK is also included. He's still building and his plugs and they are destined for legendary status. There's one "GULP" style plug in the box made by Frank Tinsley of F&R crankbaits of South Carolina and the late Bob Allen of Pot Belly Crankbaits located out of Pennsylvania. Bob trained under the legendary Fred Young, who made the iconic Big O. Bob went on to develop his own style of pot belly cranks. John Prior from Ace In the Hole Custom Lures generously donated and custom painted all of these baits. Several baits are exclusive Ace in the Hole custom builds. This box includes the impossible to get Baby Pig crankbait custom painted in John Prior's Pumpkinseed pattern. The Baby Pig crankbait (middle column--top) was made by Norm Coulter of Coulter Cranks—which by itself fetches over $100 IF you can find them. John included several of the best era of mint Poe's crankbaits which he hand-tuned and modified personally so they run true. You'll also get two Rapala DT 10's, an Ima Pinjack crankbait and Flit jerkbait, an OG Lucky Craft 1.5DD. There's a one of a kind, hard "fluke style" treble hooked bait too (if you fish blueback herring lakes, you want this one), and several of his custom Bounty Hunter Spinnerbaits! John has custom painted for some of the crankbait legends of the bass fishing game, and trained under Dale Sellers. His colors are unique and he's a certified bass hammer too, so you know his patterns get bit.

Rare 3:16 Lure Company Baby Wake in a Blueback Herring Custom Paint job by John Prior—who also generously donated this masterpiece! The Baby Wake is impossible to find, let alone custom painted in Blueback Herring. It is designed by Mickey Ellis in Laguna Hills, CA. All of his 3:16 baits are 100% original, designed by him personally to bring paradigm shifts to the swimbait world. His baits are well known amongst serious tournament anglers, trophy hunters, and bass fishing professionals.
