New! Hollow Tip Worm Collab

New for 2023, we are offering the 2.75" HTW (Hollow Tip Worm) from Samatis Baits in the EE Special run color. It's a laminate mix of two of my favorite fish catching colors—green pumpkin over watermelon...and I'm also tossing in some free rattles with each pack! We added a special mix of metal flake to this colorway that imitates a bluegill, yellow perch, goby or craw which are on the top of the bass menu. The HTW is made of floating plastic, and has some special features.

First is the hinge in the middle of the bait—that's the thin part that connects the head to the hollow tip tail. I love a hinged bait since it gives the bait tons of secondary action as you drag it, shake it or deadstick it. The tail moves even when it's sitting at rest. Watch it in the water and you'll see that the HTW tail never stays stationary—so it's creating secondary action that triggers bites!

I also love the ribbed middle section of the bait. It catches are bubbles, creates vibration when dragged and is a great area to add your scent to (my favorite is Smelly Jelly Bass Feast UV). The ribs also hold onto your scent longer!

Last is the hollow tip tail section of this bait is where more of the magic happens. Since the hollow tip holds air, it causes the tail of the bait to stand up at rest allowing the tail to move when you pause it, shake it or deadstick it.

There's even one more addition that can be killer on the HTW—I drop a 3-4mm glass rattle in the hollow tail section for added attraction—which helps draw fish to your HTW. Be sure to put a couple of drops of super glue on your rattle before you put in the hollow tail, so it stays put! It's an old school addition that most anglers don't take the time to do anymore and can really make the difference in your day on the water or in your tournament results.

Overall, the HTW is a standout in the Ned Rig category for all its features. It's larger than most finesse Ned Rig type baits in the category so not only does it get numbers, but the HTW gets big bites too. I like to fish it on the Zman football head in open water which comes through rock like a dream. Or you can pair it up on the back of my Smallie Shakey Football jig or any finesse football jig in your bag. This bait has accounted for a slew of slaunch donkeys including one of my 6lb plus Saint Lawrence Super Tankers on my last trip this Spring with Travis at Smallmouth Crush. Don't sleep on this bait for largies and spotted bass too...just don't tell your buddies.
